Ranger Wrestlers Compete at the National High School Championship Association State Qualifier

The Rangers unofficially took 5th place with only 5 wrestlers competing in the event.

Ranger Wrestling Club participated in the National High School Championship Association state qualifier over the weekend at Skyline High School, Front Royal, VA.  The Rangers unofficially took 5th place with only 5 wrestlers competing in the event.  Garret Maged (8th grade) dominated his weight class an took 1st place in the 112 lbs Middle School division, 3-0 on the day.  Michael Hulcher (8th grader) wrestled up in the High School division at 112 lbs and lost a heart breaker in the finals, 3-2, to Taylor Swartz (2nd in Dist/Region & 7th in state) and went 3-1 on the day.  Brian Hulcher (Jr @ BWHS) wrestled at the 125 lbs HS division and wrestled very well taking a 4th place, 2-2 on the day.  Tyler Anthony (Jr @ LCHS) lost a tough physical match in the finals and ended up taking 2nd place in the 125 lbs HS Division, went 3-1 on the day.  Each wrestler Qualified for the National Tournament set for July 4th weekend in Salisbury, MD. 

 

Side note:  Coach Caruso wrestled in the open and went 3-0 on the day.  "Off-season wrestling makes champions!!!!!!!!!"
